Welcome
Tucked away along a private lane in the peaceful Vale of Lanherne, on the edge of St Mawgan, Lanvean Cottage offers a rare blend of seclusion and convenience. Surrounded by rolling countryside and the gentle presence of the River Menalhyl below, it’s a place that feels calm, private, and quietly removed.
With a south-facing garden that enjoys sun throughout the day and a house designed for both comfort and connection, Lanvean Cottage is ideal for slow mornings, coastal adventures, and relaxed evenings shared together.
Living spaces
The sitting room is set within the original cottage, offering a warm and inviting retreat with a woodburner and deep, comfortable sofas - ideal after a day on the coast or out exploring. It’s a space made for unwinding: books, conversation, and evenings that stretch a little longer than planned.
In contrast, the kitchen and dining space is bright and sociable, designed for gathering. Fully equipped and generously proportioned, it’s as suited to quick breakfasts as it is to cooking and sharing meals together.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Lanvean Cottage comfortably sleeps six, with space for up to eight guests across four bedrooms. Two super king rooms and one king room offer calm, restful spaces, while a fourth bunk room is perfect for children or additional guests.
Two bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, complemented by a family bathroom and a downstairs WC - giving everyone space and flexibility, whether staying as a group of friends or a family.
Outdoor living
The south-facing garden is a standout feature, enjoying sunlight from morning through to evening. A large patio and lawn provide plenty of space for outdoor dining, relaxing, or simply enjoying the quiet surroundings.
Set along a private lane with the river just below, the setting feels peaceful and tucked away - yet never isolated.
Location & local life
Despite its peaceful setting, Lanvean Cottage is just a short walk from the heart of the village. A local pub, tea room, and village shop are all within a couple of minutes’ stroll - perfect for an easy morning coffee or a relaxed evening out.
Set on the edge of St Mawgan, the cottage is also ideally placed for exploring North Cornwall. Within a 20–25 minute drive, you can reach some of the county’s best beaches, coastal paths, and surf spots, making it an excellent base for days spent outdoors.
